Michiru (Nhung) An is a writer, poet, and a multimedia journalist. Her friends could find her either in a room writing, reading at a poetry event, or interviewing for a news story.
Michiru's writing has been published in Jellyfish Review, Lunch Ticket, Sinister Wisdom, and many other literary magazines and anthologies. She was awarded first prizes for the Quinnipiac Donald Hall Poetry Prize and Wilder Fiction Prize. She is the first Quinnipiac recipient of the Connecticut Poetry Circut Award. Michiru came to the U.S. from Vietnam to practice her best skill with the liberty of the freedom of speech, to witness real snowfalls, and to sit in the yellow school bus.
Her hobbies include reading, writing, swimming, and learning something new.
Right now, Michiru plans on taking further steps to utilize her skills in the workforce, whether in reporting, researching, editing, or writing. Her goal is to use her writing to connect communities and give space to those whose voices are unheard of.
